So let us see...what has happened that is worthy to blog about. There are actually plenty of things that I could write about! They are, but not limited to: studying my studying of the Japanese language, video games, the future of Nerblog, and of life itself in general.
As far as Japanese goes, there are a few milestones I've reached. I have officially learned the Hiragana. Now I need to increase my vocabulary and learn the Katakana. I have learned a few kanji, but I am sure that I will learn more vocabulary as my kanji knowledge increases. I am using the textbook that my aunt bought for me about a month ago. The book contains both alphabets (Hiragana & Katakana), kanji, and quite a few vocabulary words. They have mostly nouns, but there are adjectives, adverbs, and the like. They show many verbs and how to conjugate them. This is volume one out of a two or three volume set. I made flash cards on notebook cards to help me learn the Hiragana. I am going to tackle the Katakana and kanji in the very same way.
I have throttled back on my gaming. I have not played Star Ocean, or any game for that matter, for about a week. I think that I just needed some time off. Today after I go to the gym, I am going to get back into it. Probably play a long, lost game: Continuum. After I indulge in some frustrating online gaming, I will play my Nintendo 64 for a while. After five to six hours of N64 quality time, I am going straight to Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. That will put me to bed at about 9p to 12a. I have a "bedtime quota" of 9p as part of my therapy. Wake up at 8a, bed at 9p. Frankly, I loathe it, but I can't get around it. When I wake up tomorrow, I am going straight back to Star Ocean!
I have been adding logos for Nerblog like crazy. I have 19 logos that cycle at random. I plan on having up to 30 by next Monday. Be sure to visit the stats to check the status of the logos, and of the server
. Access it via the miscellaneous tab up top.
I have been having great days as of late. This latest haircut has totally changed my way of life. I can wear hats again, and my hair looks great! I have been active as of late: exercise, proper diet, and as of today I am back into weightlifting! My days have just been perhaps too great. Well, I am going out for a bit, so I will blog again in a few days. Blog ya later~

I got my ears lowered today (that means a hair cut). I got it cut for the summer, so it is really short. I can finally wear my shamrock hat again since my hair is
short enough. I will put up a couple of pics of my new style. Bad news: I can't find my shamrock hat, so that pic will have to wait. If you will compare this one
with the previous ones in the personal page, you will see a big difference. You will notice that I am wearing my glasses this time. I have worn them for many years,
but I usually tend to remove them when I take a picture. I figure that I have nothing to hide, so why not
? I also got some new dress slacks at the clothing store
today. I am feeling pretty good right about now.
I added some stuff to the personal page. I also put stuff under Miscellaneous. I have added more logos to the loop up top. There are now 15 different logos. I also added personal page stuffs. All this aside, I have about maxxed out Nerblog; time to move on. I'll still post on it, but I won't develop anymore. So keep visiting
!
Guess what, folks? Mother's Day is coming up! It's that time where we honor that one special person that gave life to us. If you have a good relationship or a bad one, alive or dead, you should still pay respects to your mother.
I got a new MSN handle. There is a list of my contact information at the bottom right side, but here is it nice and fresh!

Fallen Under Attack
Posted Dec. 13, 2008 @ 5:20pm
Well, it's been well over a month since I have last posted on my blog. In case you haven't noticed, Nerblog has fallen victim to comment spammers. I have tried recpatcha and am having no luck. I am going to make my own recaptcha-like system and see if I can thwart the spammers. Jcink believes that my recaptcha code was cracked and that's why the spammers still have access. "If they can crack Google, then they can crack you." to quote Jcink. I will begin work on this tomorrow.
I have been playing SIMS with my good friend during these past few weeks. SIMS 2 to be exact; it's an old game but it is still very fun to play (the PS2 version). I am trading in Devil May Cry tomorrow for either another game or cash...I haven't made up my mind yet.
That's all for now. I will post again right after I make up a spam control filter.

I paid a visit to Wal-Mart today. I will resume my work soon; I picked up my first paycheck today! My URI is still there, but I believe that I can work again. I just have to stay on top of my medication and inhalers. I sure hope I can return to work soon!
Yesterday I made a calendar for the blog. The source can be found right here.
That's all for now. I will post an update on my job status tomorrow! Now make way for growlie pants~

Search Engine
Posted Sept. 6, 2008 @ 7:30pm
I have whipped up a search system (simple, really) for Nerblog. Sean, an old friend of mine, helped me highlight the search terms (with the power of regex). Now if you want to find anything on Nerblog, such as "Dirty Grandpa", just type it in the search box!
I've been playing Conquer Online, Final Fantasy X, and Final Fantasy: Origins. My cousin called me and was, I think, trying to hook up his PS2. I came to the rescue; what a twit!
My story, Battle of the Dead Planet, is currently in the editing process. My dad, an accomplished author, is actually the editor. I will post in here on my blog when it is finished!

Not for Sale
Posted July 27, 2008 @ 7:00pm
There is one thing that has been bugging me as of late. People are asking me for Nerblog's source code. In this past week, I have had four people ask me. One even offered me $50.00 for the source. The only way I would get rid of my source code is if I were abandoning Nerblog completely. The code isn't all that fantastic, but the time and effort I put into the project makes me want to hang on to it. I can see me giving the source out and someone takes out my copyright and gets a liscence so they can claim Nerblog for their own; this would take away all my work
. So for the last time...Nerblog is not for sale or rent!
Good news! I have now lost 24 pounds! I started my diet one month ago at the weight of 297; now five weeks later I am 273
! I am going to purchase a Resses Cup tomorrow as a reward.
This coming Tuesday a family relative of mine is going to have open heart surgery. Pray to what ever deity that you believe in that he comes out fighting! Good luck, Charlie! Sorry for any typos...I didn't run a spell check.

Random Accusations

Latelly I have had so many people ask me, "What software did you use on Nerblog?" Well to quote the FAQ...
"None! nerd coded it all from scratch!"
Ironically, those same people call me a big, fat, lair when I tell them the answer. I am flattered, and offended, by their actions! If you ask me, you will either get, "Read the FAQ", or "None! nerd coded it all from scratch!" If you don't belive me, that's fine; all I offer is the truth. I am also going to come out and say that I AM NOT RELEASING MY CODE TO THE PUBLIC! I will however, aid anyone who wants and/or needs my help with anything.
I was at the store today and something really got my goat. Prices on food have gone up about 1.5x the amount that they were six months ago. I am on a tight budget, so it hurts me. That is yet another reason that I am getting a job
.
That's all for now...oh...my very dead and very fat grandmother would be celebrating her birthday this 18th. Smell ya later!~

Easter Maaaaaaaaaadness
Posted Mar. 22, 2008 @ 7:10pm
Well since Easter Sunday is tomorrow, I figure that I should post a little something for the holiday. So I want to extend a happy Easter to those who are celebrating; be it for religious purposes, or just coloring eggs and hanging out with the family
.
So here's some news that someone might find mildly interesting. My twenty year old cousin, who shall remain nameless, is apparently pregnant. It kind of creeps me out--not because she's pregnant, but that she's my age and having a kid. I consider myself too young to be a daddy, so naturally I'd consider her to be too young for motherhood. She's keeping the baby, so I wish her best of luck with her choice!
I added a couple of things to the miscellaneous menu. Hover over it and you'll find that I added my personal quiz and my Amazon.com wish list. Both clicks will open in a new window / tab. I'll post again soon with some worthy stuff to write about! I now leave you with this totally work safe, humorous, image.

Why Hello There, Young Man
Posted Feb. 6, 2008 @ 1:35pm
The past few weeks have been rough on Nerblog. I decided to "quit" the whole Linux thing and return back to a warm, fuzzy, Windows based operating system. Of course, this presented a little problem. I was in dire need of a host for my blog. Thankfully, a friend of mine who goes by the alias "Cybermatt", was kind enough to provide hosting services for me! He seems rather reasonable; I can abide by any terms he has. The photos will take a while before the subdomains are up; it's worth the wait.
I have gotten back to my duties in Conquer Online. At the time of this writing, I have a level 51 archer named Ceil on the Leo server. I used to play this game about two years ago; I had a 48 Trojan named Bokai. Then I got into World of Warcraft and so began the slow, arduous sucking of my life. Conquer Online is similar to World of Warcraft, but it is nowhere near as addictive. If you want to play with me, just ask and we can arrange something!
That's all for now, I'll post more thru the week and on my birthday (Feb. 10).

Have Some Chocolate

While sniffing around 4chan, I ran across the 2008 Evangelion calendar. I put it on my server; it's right here. You can print it out and hang it oh your wall
. If you like Neon Genesis Evangelion, you will really love this calendar! It features the whole Eva crew; it has all twelve months laid out in six different files (that's two months per character for those at home keeping score). If you want another anime calendar, just ask me. Before asking me though, I'd suggest you Google around and maybe search 4chan. The /rs/ board on 4chan lists several files on Rapidshare and Megaupload for download. The /rs/ board on 4chan is really worth checking out for anything internet / anime related. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me for assistance.
I did some work around Nerblog today. I set up a statistics page. It features server size, ip, blog and comment entries. It even has an overall word count for all the blog entries. It is accessable via the menu "Miscellaneous" at the top of this page! I also fixed the archives -- they are now in the proper order. I also added pagination to the main blog system; I have yet to split category views into pages. I really should do that since the personal category puts 89 entries on to a single page. I will get that ironed out tomorrow
.
Yesterday, I watched Mr. Woodcock for the second time. It is the story of a mean P.E. coach and a poor little fat kid. The gym coach (Mr. Woodcock; played by Billy Bob Thorton) eventually winds up dating the Farley's (little fat kid) mom in the future. Farley writes a self-help book; he finds out that he is having trouble following his own advice! This is a must-see comedy for all ages -- rent it today
!
That's all for now! I'm off to play Mario Kart: Super Circut on my GBA! I might play Golden Sun instead...I'll post again soon
