For the Record
Posted Mar. 30, 2008 @ 1:55pm
I haven't finished my book yet; I decided to take a couple of days off from reading. I'm going to kick it off again tomorrow and try to read at least 70 pages.
I have been watching anime and playing Conquer Online this weekend. I am up to level 104 in CO. Sorry for the short post, but there is really nothing worth blogging about. If I go to the movies on Tuesday, I'll post then; else, it may be awhile.

Reading, Gaming, and Stuff

More good news! The other two books that I was expecting finally arrived yesterday; special thanks to my mom for purchasing them for me! I am just about halfway through Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Volume 1 The Lost Memory. To be exact, I'm on page 96 out of 201. I think that I'm going to knock out all the way to 140 tonight; the book is starting to get really juicy
. The next book in the series is Revenge of the Cold Machines; it is 204 pages long. I can honestly say that these are the best books that I've read. I love Ghost in the Shell and it's series'/movies; the books are no disappointment, either! The final book in the trilogy (for SAC) is White Maze; it weighs in at 220 pages. Why cant the books be more like 500 pages
.
I am making some steady progress in Conquer Online. I am level 103; 27 more levels and I am going to get reborn
. I plan on level 110 (the final promotion) by sometime next week. This game is so much more fun than World of Warcraft. Technically it's free, but if you donate money you can advance in ways that non-playing people can't. I have about 60m gold, fantastic gear, and a very supportive guild. The good part about the game is you can quit any time (unlike WoW).
That's all for today. Enjoy another music video from Paramore entitled Misery Business.

Ghostly Requiem

Today I would like to touch on music. As most of you know, my favorite song is Loch Lomond by Corries; I love other music, too! My runner up favorite band would have to be Evanescence. My favorite song that they perform is My Immortal. I am also a big fan of Lacuna Coil and Flyleaf. Let's not forget my love of Sub Dub Micromachine, Fall Out Boy, Plain White T's, Slayer, and My Chemical Romance. I know the genres are mixed up, but I do like all musical genres (except country
...and rap
).
Today I went to the old movie theater that plays 2-3 month old movies. I saw National Treasure: Book of Secrets. I would rate it an 8 out of 10. The plot was steady, the action was intense. There were corny jokes scattered throughout the movie, but it was that way to lighten the mood a bit. If you were a fan of the first movie, do yourself a favor and watch the sequel
!
I read a little bit on my new book, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Volume 1 The Lost Memory. I am making pretty good progress
. I should be finished on Saturday or Sunday. I'm not going to talk too much about it; I'll write a short review once I complete the novel. It's only 201 pages, so even if I just chop at it 30 pages a day, I'll have it completed by this weekend.
The following music video is My Immortal by Evanescence, courtesy of Yahoo! music videos.

Family Arrivals
Posted Mar. 24, 2008 @ 4:40pm
Today was indeed a wonderful day!
Part of my extended family (2nd cousins and 1st cousin) came down into town to pay a visit. They stayed with my Uncle Jim and Aunt Teresa for the evening. Then, today, they came to my apartment and stayed for about an hour. They then took me to my parent's house. All but one of them is nice; and the "other" one is only eight years old, so some hyperactivity can be expected! All in all I would say it was a nice visit.
The other great thing that happened today involved the Ghost in the Shell novels that were due to arrive. The first one in the series, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Volume 1 The Lost Memory arrived from Amazon.com and was shipped to my parents house (because my mom is the one that purchased the trilogy!). I have read up to chapter three; it is a very excellent novel...maybe this one will be read 2-3 times! Hopefully by this weekend, I will have Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Volume 1 The Lost Memory read and I'll be ready for the next book in the series
! As far as the whole series and movies and such, my favorite character is Batou (Major Kusanagi is pretty sweet as well!).
Check the FAQ out...there's some things that have been added, changed, or deleted. I'll post later; have a nice day or two!

Easter Maaaaaaaaaadness
Posted Mar. 22, 2008 @ 7:10pm
Well since Easter Sunday is tomorrow, I figure that I should post a little something for the holiday. So I want to extend a happy Easter to those who are celebrating; be it for religious purposes, or just coloring eggs and hanging out with the family
.
So here's some news that someone might find mildly interesting. My twenty year old cousin, who shall remain nameless, is apparently pregnant. It kind of creeps me out--not because she's pregnant, but that she's my age and having a kid. I consider myself too young to be a daddy, so naturally I'd consider her to be too young for motherhood. She's keeping the baby, so I wish her best of luck with her choice!
I added a couple of things to the miscellaneous menu. Hover over it and you'll find that I added my personal quiz and my Amazon.com wish list. Both clicks will open in a new window / tab. I'll post again soon with some worthy stuff to write about! I now leave you with this totally work safe, humorous, image.

Anal Reading
Posted Mar. 19, 2008 @ 4:45pm
Boy I sure have been slacking in the writing area as of late. The empty promises of my poetry and short stories went unnoticed. Alas, today is not a day of writing; it is a day to cheer on the fact that I am getting three new novels.
I am getting three Ghost in the Shell novels. My mom ran across my wish list on Amazon.com and was kind enough to purchase the items on it
! I am the world's biggest fan of the series and movies, so I am naturally looking forward to the novels as well!
Speaking of reading, I read Franny and Zooey last week...and boy did it suck hairy, sweaty, monkey balls; not J.D. Salinger's best work, but I choked my way through it. I wrote a paragraph to describe the whole novel.
Franny and Zooey is actually a combination of two different stories. Franny focuses on a romantic affair between Franny Glass and her rather rude boyfriend "boyfriend", Lane. Lane is very rude and treats Franny like trash; Franny is very mild-mannered and puts up with Lane’s horrible chain of abuse; she also has a chain of emotional problems such as major depression and a hint of bipolar disorder. Zooey was published after Franny. Zooey Glass is a well-balanced actor. He loved to read and write; he was an intelligent young man. Franny and Zooey get together toward the end. The novel was mildly uninteresting at first, but picked up toward the middle.
Yes, it sucked very badly...

To Whom it may Concern
Posted Mar. 6, 2008 @ 11:10pm
Today is a short post, less than 100 words; today is a forus on poetry. Today's poem is
something I composed over a year ago. It is called To Whom it may
Concern. Here it is, enjoy--I'll post more of my writing on Saturday!
I also made an image with PSP8 back in the day (which I'm posting).
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
If I died tomorrow...
Would anybody notice?
Would anybody listen?
Would anybody care?
...if I were really gone...
To whom it may concern...

To whom it may concern...

It's been just about a month since I have posted anything. There just hasn't been anything worth writing about. I'm thinking about publishing some of my poetry...
I have been playing Conquer Online for about a month now...and i am loving it more by the day! I just recently aquired my house (as a result of many hours of mining). I have a Fire Taoist at level 48; I still have my archer, but she is at level 83.
Next time I post, I'll include a poem or two. I'll post again in a week at most.
